A Hidden Treasure

Set in beautiful Savernake  Forest, the parish of St Katharine’s comprises various farms, small hamlets and isolated houses. The church's congregation is more widely based, as it has drawn people from the surrounding area who enjoy St Katharine's Church's beautiful surroundings and less frenetic atmosphere.

Next door, the thriving primary school also serves a far larger area than the parish and has a very warm relationship with the church.

The Victorian building is a fine example of an "Oxford Movement" church.  Please see the "About St Katharine's" and "History of St Katharine's Church" pages for more information about our church.

This hidden treasure is worth a journey – you will find a warm welcome. Please click here for location details.

As from June there is a change to our normal pattern of services. The times all stay the same but our Common Worship Holy Communion will now be on the 2nd Sunday of the month (at 11am) and Matins moves to the 3rd Sunday (at 9.30am).

St Katharine's Bells Restoration Appeal

We are delighted to report that our fundraising reached its target and the restoration work has now been completed, the bells rehung and rededicated at a lovely service on 17 September. We are very grateful to the wonderful people at Whites of Appleton for the superb job they have done and to everyone who has so very kindly donated towards the cost of the work.
